Nigeria Senate says two different Copies of the 2016 Budget were delivered to the National Assembly Oya Naw . !!!

The Nigerian Senate has revealed that two different copies of the 2016 Budget were delivered to the National Assembly. The Senate alleged that the copy of the budget document delivered by the Special Adviser to the President on Legislative Matters, Senator ITA ENANG, is different from the copy of the budget that was presented to a joint session of the National Assembly by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI.The finding was the outcome of the investigation by the Senate Committee on Ethic, Privileges and Public Petition, which was considered during a closed-door executive session today.Following the development; the Senate has resolved to consider only the budget based on the presentation by President BUHARI on 22nd of December last year. You will recall that the delay in the commencement of consideration of the 2016 Budget by the National Assembly on resumption from the holiday break had sparked speculations about the fate of the document.Since then, the media has been buzzing with reports that the Budget Document might have gone missing, with the relevant authorities have come out to deny.Meanwhile; the Senate today resolved to summon the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, GODWIN EMEFIELE over the continued nosedive of the Naira against other international currency. With the Naira exchanging close to three hundred against one US dollar, the federal lawmakers want the CBN Governor to explain the trend and suggest ways to check the fall.
